A decade of design – Allister Godfrey Architects celebrate
Last night at 20:46 GMT we received notification that the new Allister Godfrey Architects website was live! Not only is it a culmination of a few months work with Electric Studio, but more importantly is the final anniversary celebration of a significant year for the practice. Today also marks a refresh of our practice branding.
2015 has not only marked a decade in practice but has seen a number of changes, the most momentous being Neil Cadge joining the practice. Neil has over fifteen years experience and joins the team as Architectural Assistant. The six months Neil has been with us has made a terrific impact and we are looking forward to the fresh challenges 2016 will bring.
It’s not only us that have changed, the world we live in has changed massively – we were around before the iPhone was a reality! The past ten years have seen significant changes to planning legislation and Building Regulations that clearly affect how we go about our work. One thing is clear though, having adapted, we still love what we do and provide the same enthusiasm, care and commitment to all projects.
Ten years is a long time, and looking through the archives the following statistics have emerged:
Out of the 180 projects we have on file, we have designed 77 houses, 4 apartments, 39 extensions and 5 ‘others’. The ‘others’ are quite diverse, including design and construction drawings for a Gold medal winning Chelsea Flower Show garden to the conversion of a Listed chapel to photographic studio, with a pair of gates thrown in for good measure! In total we have had 66 successful planning applications.
Whilst we are justifiably proud of our track record with planning approvals, the real measure of success is the amazing relationships we have with our clients. Some of our clients have returned to us for work on new homes or extensions; we also get invites to dine with clients in their new homes. Our clients are proud of what they have accomplished and, in turn, puts a big smile on our faces!
